Dust Ruffle Is Overstuffed With Money

Share
From Times Wire Reports

There are legends about people keeping fortunes in a mattress. But in a dust ruffle?

Capitola police said they are holding on to $3,620 found in a dust ruffle returned to the Mervyn’s store in Capitola last week.

After a shopper returned the ruffle, store employee Daniel Pacheco noticed a $20 bill in the package. When he removed the dust ruffle, he found the wad of cash.

The shopper told Pacheco the money wasn’t hers, so he turned it in to Mervyn’s security.

Pacheco and the unidentified shopper filed paperwork claiming to be the finder. If the real owner doesn’t show up in 90 days, a court will decide who gets the money.
