Eroding Gun Rights

Uhh, no, George Skelton (“Taking Some License With Language Might Save Gun Bill,” Aug. 27). A gun “license,” a gun “permit,” a gun “safety certificate” are not now, nor ever will be, acceptable to gun owners, let alone a thumbprint. This isn’t about making sure gun owners know how to handle a weapon, it is about removing guns slowly, quietly from the general populace and we all know it.
A right by its very definition cannot be licensed. State Sen. Jack Scott (D-Altadena) is an enemy of freedom and the parts of the Constitution that he doesn’t agree with. So like most liberals, he first vilifies the object and its owner, then slowly chips away at our freedoms.
