A Superior Court judge told a third BART union that it can’t strike for at least six more weeks, extending an injunction that for now will keep the transit system running.

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 3993 and BART have until Oct. 15 to reach a settlement, after which AFSCME could strike. BART officials said the next negotiating session is set for Monday.

The other two unions that reached a tentative settlement with BART on Tuesday have pledged to honor AFSCME’s picket lines if the union strikes in October.
