Tree, Plaque to Honor Longtime Civic Leader

The late Glen Tressler, a longtime Buena Park activist, will be honored by the city with a tree and plaque at Boisseranc Park’s Memorial Grove.
Tressler, who died two years ago, had lived in the city since 1949 and was among the leaders who encouraged incorporation in 1953. He was a member of the Buena Park School District board and chairman of the city’s centennial celebration in 1987. But Tressler was primarily known for his 34 years as a city parks commissioner, helping plan every park in the city.
The tree will be planted in ceremonies at 11 a.m. Sept. 22 the park, 7520 Dale St.
