Seals’ Injury Not as Bad as Feared

Junior running back Chris Seals of LaVerne Damien, who was taken off the field in an ambulance last week during a 21-13 loss to Anaheim Servite, does not have a broken leg as feared.
Seals had a deep muscle contusion, and more seriously, jammed his big toe, according to Coach Mark Pasquarella.
“That’s the thing that’s holding him back right now,” Pasquarella said. “I would be surprised if he played next week.”
Damien’s game tonight against Rancho Cucamonga has been canceled in light of the ruling by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
