Humana Inc., which provides health insurance for 6 million people, doesn’t have to pay $79.8 million in damages for cutting off some coverage to an 8-year-old girl with cerebral palsy, a Florida appeals court ruled.

The 4th District Court of Appeal threw out the jury award to Caitlyn Chipps and her family after finding the judge made glaring errors in his jury instructions on damages and his post-trial rulings.

Humana officials said they’re ready to defend their decision to cut off the therapy coverage if the case is set for retrial.
