Singer Pleads Guilty to Bankruptcy Fraud
Randy Jackson, a member of the singing Jackson family, pleaded guilty Monday to bankruptcy fraud by failing to list a $21,000 sport utility vehicle in a 1996 bankruptcy filing.
Asked to list all of his “automobiles, trucks, trailers and other vehicles,” the 39-year-old Jackson admitted ownership of a 1989 LaForza, but failed to mention a 1995 Chevrolet Suburban.
In exchange for his guilty plea, federal prosecutors have agreed to recommend that Jackson be placed on probation and pay restitution equal to the value of the SUV. He could have received a maximum of five years in prison. He is to be sentenced Dec. 3 at U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.
