Educator Gets 27-Month Term in Child Porn Case
A former vice principal in the Palmdale school district was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison Monday after pleading guilty to transmitting child pornography on the Internet.
Clifford George Doty, 40, of Lancaster admitted e-mailing a picture of a young girl engaging in sexual conduct to an undercover San Bernardino County sheriff’s detective.
In exchange for his guilty plea, federal prosecutors dropped another count of distributing child pornography and one count of using the Internet to solicit sex with a minor.
Doty resigned from his job at the Quail Valley Elementary School after his arrest. He had taught in the district since 1983.
