Live music, ethnic food, arts and crafts, a car show and children’s games will highlight the sixth annual Multicultural Festival scheduled Saturday at Downtown Plaza Park.

The event’s theme is “Understanding Diversity/Embracing Cultures,” city leaders said.

“It is imperative, particularly in view of the recent tragic events, that we learn to live together and work together in harmony. We will all benefit and be much happier by doing so,” said Mayor Manuel Lopez.

Opening ceremonies are scheduled at 10 a.m. The daylong event will include performances by Scottish and Filipino dancers, Native American drummers and mariachis.
