How the Kodak Theatre came to be the permanent home of the Academy Awards will be the topic of a meeting of Commercial Real Estate Women-Los Angeles on April 9 at Club One Seven at the Hollywood & Highland development in Hollywood.
Guest speaker will be Mikel Gordon, an administrator at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, who will explain how the academy chose its new location. The 6 p.m. event will include a tour of the Kodak Theatre. Cost is $45 for CREW members and $55 for nonmembers registered in advance, $10 more at the door. For more information, call (310) 358-5115.

The Los Angeles Chapter of the Lambda Alpha International land economics society and Cal State Northridge, will present a program titled “Structuring the Development Team” on April 11.
The speaker will be Ronald L. Buss, co-founder of real estate consulting firm Buss-Shelger Associates.
The program will begin at 7 p.m. in room 130 of the university’s Manzanita Hall.
