Huntington Beach police are looking for a sixth suspect in the recent kidnapping of a 37-year-old businessman held for nearly two weeks.

Five men have already been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping for ransom. They are accused of seizing Sohiel B. Daliri on March 18 and holding him until he was freed by police detectives and FBI agents March 30 at a Long Beach motel.

Daliri was found tied to a bed, blindfolded and gagged with duct tape, police said.

On Friday, police Sgt. Gary Meza said further investigation has led them to the sixth suspect, who remains at large. They are looking for Scott Douglas Burns, 42, who last lived in Vista, Meza said. He is 6 foot 2, 200 pounds and has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Daliri was uninjured but was treated at a hospital for dehydration.

Police have not disclosed the link between Daliri and the suspects. Daliri owns heating and air-conditioning shops in Fullerton and Orange.

Investigators asked Friday that anyone with information about Burns’ whereabouts call the Huntington Beach Police Department hotline, (714) 375-5066.
