4 Bodies Found After Plane Crash
The bodies of a Visalia pilot and three teenage passengers were found Wednesday at the site where the plane crashed.
Patrick Carey, 43, was piloting the plane Saturday over the Moro Rock area as part of a birthday surprise for Bobby Craine, 16. Craine’s friends Justin McClain and Jason Tilley, both 15, were also aboard.
A helicopter from Vandenberg Air Force Base spotted the Piper Cherokee at 11 a.m. and lowered a California Highway Patrol officer, who confirmed that there were no survivors, said Shauna Dyas, a park employee.
The flight followed a scavenger hunt Saturday morning that led the boys to Visalia Municipal Airport. They were to return from the flight and go out for Mexican food. Their families were waiting at the restaurant when they learned the plane had not returned.
