Arsenal and Chelsea won FA Cup semifinals Sunday, setting up a championship between London rivals in the showcase game of English soccer.

Arsenal beat Middlesbrough, 1-0, on an own goal by Gianluca Festa minutes after he entered the game. Chelsea defeated Fulham, 1-0, on John Terry’s goal in the 42nd minute at Villa Park.

The final is May 4 at Cardiff, Wales.

Festa replaced Ugo Ehiogu in the 33rd minute at Old Trafford. Five minutes later, he tried to clear an Arsenal corner kick only to prod the ball past his own goalkeeper.

It was the only goal Middlesbrough had conceded in this season’s competition.

Arsenal gained a spot in the final for the second consecutive year and the 15th time overall. The Gunners lost to Liverpool in last season’s final.

Arsenal also leads the Premier League and is bidding to win the league and FA Cup for the third time.

This will be Chelsea’s third final in six years, with titles in 1997 and 2000.

Chelsea’s score was a semblance of an own goal. Terry’s angled shot struck Louis Saha on the way in after Fulham failed to clear a corner kick.

The game ended with several players pushing and shoving each other.
