Spiderdance to Suspend Operations

Share

Spiderdance Inc. of Venice, which makes software for interactive television, announced that it’s suspending operations in the face of weak demand from TV producers and networks. “The problem is that investment follows revenues, and the revenues just aren’t here yet,” said Steven Hoffman, the company’s chief executive. “In a bad advertising market, it’s an impossible sell.” Spiderdance had already whittled its staff down to 11 from a high of 44. Its four founders hope to revive the company when demand for interactive TV technology grows.
