With Fees Established, Gay Pride March Is On
A march sponsored by the Gay and Lesbian Community Service Center of Orange County will go forward on Aug. 17, after the organization and city officials agreed on financial terms Friday.
It’s the first time the center will hold a march in Orange County. The event will include a parade, rally and party. Plans, however, were threatened because the group sought a fee waiver or discount from the $4,700 that the city sought. They cited groups such as the Lions Club that receive fee discounts for similar events.
Under the agreement Friday, the center will pay $3,800.
