A unit of Motorola Inc. is recalling about a million digital cable set-top boxes because they could pose an electric shock hazard to consumers.

Motorola’s Broadband Communications Sector will recall the DCT2000 model set-top boxes that were distributed to cable TV subscribers across the U.S. between March and June, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The commission said pins in the back of the box that connect to the power cord could break, creating a possible shock hazard. Neither the commission nor the company had received any reports of shock or injury, the agency said.
