Agency Issues Recall of Faulty Mountain Bikes

About 1,000 mountain bikes built by a Novato firm are being recalled because the steering tube can break off the frame, causing riders to lose control and fall.
Marin Mountain Bikes received two reports of broken tubes, causing injuries that included broken bones, broken teeth and cuts, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
The frames are aluminum and will be replaced for free. Call the company at (800) 876-9840.
