Blake Defense Seeks to Delay Hearing
From Times Staff Reports
Over defense objections, prosecutors asked a judge Friday to set a preliminary hearing for actor Robert Blake in early September.
Blake’s attorney, Harland W. Braun, wants the hearing delayed until November. He said prosecutors turned over an additional 7,000 pages of evidence this week, and he needs time to read and evaluate the material.
Blake, 68, is charged with killing his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, 44, near a Studio City restaurant May 4, 2001. He is being held without bail at Men’s Central Jail.
