Band Director Charged in Raccoon Head Case
A suburban Cleveland high school band director who said he mailed a dead raccoon’s head to a school official during a teachers’ strike has been indicted on felony charges of intimidation and retaliation.
Police said Donald Sullivan admitted mailing the head to Maple Heights High School Principal Deborah Houchins during a Maple Heights district strike last month. He said he found a dead raccoon while jogging.
Sullivan, 51, works in the neighboring Bedford High School and has been suspended without pay; his wife teaches in Maple Heights.
