Sequoia lodge disappointing

Regarding the Dec. 8 Weekend Escape, “Slip-Sliding Away in Regal Kings Canyon”: Two years ago, a friend and I stayed in the main lodge at the Montecito-Sequoia Resort and found everything but the skiing a disappointment.
Our room had a very small window, stained and threadbare carpet, mismatched dorm-style furniture and filthy blankets. Housekeepers dropped off fresh towels daily, but didn’t clean the bathroom or make the beds.
Food was on par with that of a camp. Resort and Forest Service staff occupied dining hall tables while guests were left without seats. One morning, empty beer bottles and wineglasses from the night before remained on tables while guests ate breakfast.
My friend and other guests who signed up for lessons waited 20 minutes in a blizzard before finding an instructor, who said the lesson was canceled because it was snowing too hard.
For $300 per person for a two-day stay, we expected more.
