UPN aims to go ‘Platinum’

Share

For midseason, UPN has picked up six episodes of “Platinum,” a family drama that follows two brothers who own and operate a record company in the competitive world of rap and hip-hop. It was created by John Ridley and Sofia Coppola, whose father, Francis Ford Coppola, joins them as one of the show’s executive producers.

MTV, which, like UPN, is owned by Viacom Inc., will cross-promote “Platinum” by airing music videos from the series. It also will rebroadcast each week’s episode eight to 10 days after its original broadcast on UPN.
