Panel Backs Bratton on Curbing Police Pursuits

A majority of the Board of Police Commissioners said Tuesday that it supports sharp new restrictions on police pursuits, as Chief William J. Bratton has proposed.
The commissioners will consider implementing the restrictions next month.
Bratton proposed banning pursuits that begin with a minor infraction, such as a traffic violation.
