Is Santa a Bad Seed?
Vickie Odding tells us that “Santa Claus Is a Lie We Can Safely Tell Our Kids” (Voices, Dec. 21). Is this the same Santa who does not call on “needy” families, necessitating the work of Toys for Tots she mentioned? Is it possible that Santa’s discrimination against the needy influences some children to grow up to be legislators who can comfortably ignore the needs of the poor? Or executives who can exploit them without a thought? Or those in government who would serve only the rich? Perhaps Santa needs rethinking.
