From Times Wire Reports

Sacramento’s proposed “living wage” ordinance would cost businesses as much as $8.7 million, according to a study by a private research firm.

The Economic Research Associates study was based on estimates provided by local businesses that have city contracts or are receiving city subsidies.

The study suggests that city officials should reduce the proposed living wage from $12.84 an hour to $11, which would lift a family of three above the federal poverty level.
