Items Seized at Airport Put on Online Auction

The new federal security force didn’t know what to do with a half-ton collection of items, ranging from cutlery and corkscrews to box cutters and scissors, confiscated at Oakland International Airport since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
So officials decided to find the loot a new home by auctioning it on EBay. The bidding starts at $9.99.
Other items up for sale on the online auction are ornate plastic swords, a cordless drill, chain-saw blade and cast iron skillet.
