Take the Cow Ads With a Grain of Salt

John Robbins (“Activists Decry ‘Happy Cows’ Ads,” Dec. 13) really needs to get a life.

This is an advertisement.

Most people realize that cows don’t talk and most have seen the conditions they live in as we drive past the various yards. We really must thank him for helping all the dumb people to understand advertising, and, as an added bonus, keeping another poor attorney employed.

I would like to join PETA’s [People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals] happy cow lawsuit.

I don’t have any idea whether cows are happy or whether they are treated inhumanely. I do know, with certainty, that cows do not talk. I find it demeaning, untruthful and a slap in the face to depict them in this manner.

The next thing you know they’ll be claiming that cows jump over the moon.
