Bad Movie Walking
Lynn Smith’s article on movie theater walkouts (“Cinema Paradiso? Not Always,” Jan. 30) cracked me up. A few months ago, my husband and I went to see the film “Blow” because our favorite actor, Johnny Depp, was in it. But we ended up leaving the minute our least favorite actor, Paul “Pee-wee Herman” Reubens, made an appearance. Life is too short to sit through torture! We’ve learned to check out the casts on the Internet from now on.

My fiance and I are two of those moviegoers who walked out of “Moulin Rouge.” I wanted to leave within the first five minutes; my fiance, an eternal optimist, thought it would get better. After about 45 minutes of what, for me, was sheer hell, we finally left and got our money back.
