Deal of the Week: Grand Canyon Train

Share

Visiting Arizona’s Grand Canyon National Park on a rail-hotel package is cheaper in winter and has other advantages, such as smaller crowds, snowy scenery and often better views of the canyon than in the smoggy summer. The two-night, three-day “Canyon Railway Express Package,” good through March 15, gives you one night at the Fray Marcos Hotel in Williams, Ariz., and one night at the park’s Maswik Lodge; round-trip coach train fare on the Grand Canyon Railway between Williams and the canyon, 65 miles away; a choice of two canyon tours, from two to four hours long; and one breakfast and one dinner. The cost is $159 per adult (plus taxes and $8 park admission), double occupancy, versus $229 in peak season. Children ages 2 to 16 cost $35.50 year-round. Book at least 11 days in advance. Other discounted packages are also available. (800) 843-8724, www.thetrain.com.
