Coach Dave Wannstedt of the Miami Dolphins turned to an old friend Tuesday, hiring former Washington Redskin coach Norv Turner as offensive coordinator and assistant head coach.

Wannstedt and Turner were assistants on the Dallas Cowboys’ 1992 Super Bowl championship team, and worked together at USC in 1983-84.

Turner, 49, replaces Chan Gailey, who was Miami’s offensive coordinator for two seasons before becoming coach at Georgia Tech.

Jurisprudence

Officials of the RCA Championships in Indianapolis and the Legg Mason Tennis Classic in Washington filed a lawsuit in federal court charging the ATP Tour and chief executive officer Mark Miles of restraint of trade, operating an illegal cartel.

The 55-page lawsuit alleged that the ATP Tour “tried to coerce” NBC, the broadcast partner of the RCA Championships, to boycott the event and “broadcast a Super 9 tournament.” Super 9 refers to the Tennis Masters Series events.

Miles was not available for comment, but the tour released a statement Tuesday, saying: “The ATP firmly believes the action is without merit and based on multiple factual inaccuracies. The ATP plans a vigorous defense on behalf of all of its player and tournament members.”
