* William H. McFarland has joined the board of directors of Cornerstone Ventures Inc. in Newport Beach, the fund manager of Cornerstone Realty Fund LLC. McFarland is the former chief executive of Irvine Apartment Communities. Before that, he was president and chief executive of Irvine Community Development, the land development arm of the Irvine Co.

* C. Douglas Mitchell has joined Chicago Pizza & Brewery Inc. in Huntington Beach as chief financial officer. Mitchell’s experience includes seven years with Del Taco Inc. and more than 10 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
