Deputy Held in Attempted Murder Case
A Los Angeles sheriff’s deputy faces attempted murder charges after he was arrested outside his Corona home for allegedly beating his wife and 16-year-old stepdaughter.
Deputy John Lee, 47, was booked into the Riverside County Jail on Tuesday on suspicion of attempted murder, spousal abuse, child abuse, making criminal threats, and assault with a deadly weapon. Lee’s stepdaughter called 911 about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and said her stepfather struck her in the face and was choking her mother. Lee also threatened to kill the family, police said.
He is being held in lieu of $1-million bail.
