Driver Arrested After Collision With Police Car
A Fullerton man who crashed his car into a police cruiser was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of drunk driving, authorities said.
After the Tuesday night incident, Mario Heredia, 33, was treated and released from a local hospital. His 10-year-old son, a passenger in the car, was not injured.
Heredia, driving a 1989 Accord, broadsided the police cruiser about 9:30 p.m. as he turned from Euclid Street onto the Santa Ana Freeway, said Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez.
The officer who was driving was hospitalized briefly. His passenger, a jailer, remained hospitalized Wednesday with moderate injuries.
Their names were not released.
