A driver who police said suffered a diabetic attack received minor injuries Wednesday when his car landed on the roof of a house next to the border with La Habra.

Frank Marruffo, 50, of Santa Fe Springs was in good condition at a hospital, police said.

“The road is about 50 feet from the house on an incline,” said Sgt. Eric Lindblom, a spokesman for the sheriff’s Industry station. “The road turns to the left, and he didn’t.”

Rescuers used a ladder to get Marruffo off the roof of the house in the 1200 block of Hiatt Avenue about 6 p.m. The green Buick remained on the roof as workers debated how to get it down.

“We won’t know how much damage was done to the roof until we remove the car,” Lindblom said.
