On Display: Something You Might Be Missing
Surfboards, hockey equipment and 24 cellular phones were among the items on display at the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Hutton Building on Friday.
The display was an effort to return $100,000 worth of stolen property to owners.
Other items included a utility golf cart allegedly stolen from an apartment complex, a hydraulic cherry picker, four pocket computers, tools, toolboxes and mirrored sliding closet doors.
The items were collected after the arrest of Edwin Jon Cridge, 31, and Michael T. Purnell, 44, on suspicion of burglary in connection with thefts in Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Irvine and Costa Mesa.
Investigators determined that the items were stolen and sold in Riverside County.
The hope is that victims will reclaim their property.
