From Times Wire Reports

President Bush will give his State of the Union address on Jan. 29.

It will be Bush’s third prime-time speech to a joint session of the House and Senate but his first official State of the Union address.

His first nationally televised address in the House in February of last year was, by the tradition of freshly inaugurated presidents, not called a State of the Union speech.

Bush last spoke to a joint session of Congress on Sept. 20, nine days after terrorists attacked the Pentagon and World Trade Center.
