U.S. Sailor Killed, 4 Hurt in Car Crash

A U.S. Navy serviceman died and four other sailors were injured when their car crashed into a tree, a Navy spokesman said.
Navy Cmdr. Matt Brown said the early morning accident took place just outside the Atsugi Naval Air Facility south of Tokyo, where the sailors were based. Brown said he did not know the sailors’ hometowns.
Local police spokesman Michio Oka identified the dead sailor as Petty Officer 3rd Class Timothy Frye, 22.
