County Employees Raise Record United Way Funds
Orange County’s government employees, in response to the tragic events of Sept. 11, dug deep into their pockets and raised $826,700 during the annual United Way campaign.
“This year we shattered all prior years’ records, which I believe was partly a response to the tragic events of Sept. 11,” said Auditor-Controller David E. Sundstrom, who led the county’s United Way campaign.
The campaign raised $104,102 more than last year, a 14% increase. A check presentation will be today at 9 a.m. at the Old County Courthouse in Santa Ana.
