Five Maoist Rebels Killed by Army Troops
From Times Wire Reports
Five Maoist rebels were killed in army operations against guerrillas fighting to topple Nepal’s constitutional monarchy, the Defense Ministry said.
The ministry said three rebels died in a gun battle Sunday after they hurled a bomb at a security patrol from a cave in northwestern Nepal. Soldiers recovered a large amount of explosives from the site, it said.
In another incident, two rebels were gunned down in Bhajhang and Taplejung in eastern Nepal.
