18 Families Affected by 9/11 Get $12,750 Each
United Way of Greater Los Angeles has given $229,500 to 18 Los Angeles County families affected by the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Each of the families received $12,750, United Way said.
In addition, 12 children in seven of the families have received $8,333. The money for the children was donated to United Way by the Mattel Children’s Foundation.
Donors in the county have contributed $1,028,103 to Sept. 11 relief efforts. Of this amount, $698,603 has been designated to support New York’s Sept. 11th Fund, with the rest for local relief.
