Rainbow Unit Awarded 3-Year NSA Contract

Rainbow Technologies Inc., an Irvine maker of security products, said Monday that a unit has been awarded a three-year, $33.6-million contract from the National Security Agency for computer cards that make classified voice communications secure.

Rainbow said that its Mykotronx unit in Torrance picked up the contract after completing a $15.3-million deal for the agency in less than three years. The stock rose $1.65 a share to $12.25 on Nasdaq.
