Two Killed in Crash Caused by Trampoline
A trampoline blocking the road caused the collision of a car and a motorcycle that killed a San Martin man and a 5-year-old boy Saturday.
A 25-year-old Gilroy woman was driving north on Monterey Road when she swerved to avoid a 3-foot-wide trampoline crossing into the southbound lane, a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol said.
The woman lost control of her vehicle and collided head-on with a 55-year-old San Martin man riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, police said.
The man and a 5-year-old boy in the woman’s vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Gilroy woman was admitted to San Jose Medical Center with a lumbar fracture.
She is in stable condition, hospital officials said.
A 7-year-old boy also riding in the car with the woman was unharmed.
