A.D. Draws a Studio Crowd, Inside and Out

A.D. may as well be a latter-day Studio 54. I popped into the Hollywood nightclub Saturday, and it was like scaling the cliffs of insanity. The mob scene out front was hundreds deep, and along with such divas as Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson and Missy Elliott, boy toys such as Mark McGrath, Justin Timberlake and Hot Karl were in the house.

Hot Karl, a rapper who calls himself “Valley trash,” worked the crowd with his entourage, which included his mother and a 7-foot-tall funky chicken. I got jiggy with a Playboy bunny named Priscilla, who was whipping McGrath’s posse into a frenzy with her hot-potato dance moves. Speaking of hot potatoes, Kelly Osbourne showed up with a note from her mom, promising she wouldn’t drink. Oh be-have!

Score another round for Beverly Hills. De Mori’s nightclub is making its debut July 26, and fans of the martini should note the new Italian spot offers 65 variations, including bubble gum and blow-pop.... Caught Paul Stanley driving up Coldwater Canyon in full KISS makeup and wig, with the top down on his Ferrari....

We have it on good authority that Guns N’ Roses rocker Slash chatted up dreamy pop icon Lance Bass for about 10 minutes backstage at the Forum after a recent Aerosmith visit. Turns out Bass was simply being polite. He had no idea who he was talking to. Hey, you’ve seen one rocker, you’ve seen ‘em all.... Speaking of GNR, Stargunn rocker Shooter Jennings got to play Axl at a recent Arena gig, backed by real Guns N’ Roses players Slash, Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan. I say put it on the road ....This just in: Punk fave AFI is making a guest appearance at today’s pirate-themed Warped Tour at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum. Ahoy, matey.
