Road Rage Leads to Man’s Shooting Death
A Richmond man was shot to death behind the wheel of his car in front of his family during a road rage incident.
Raul Jimenez, 30, was killed instantly. His sons, ages 11 and 6, their mother Laura Gibbs, 33, who is eight months pregnant with their third son, and friend Bobby Rivas were also in the car. Police said no one else was hit.
The incident occurred early Wednesday. Jimenez’s station wagon had just passed a dark-colored Mitsubishi in the eastbound lanes of International Boulevard in Oakland. He was stopped at an intersection when the other car pulled alongside.
Jimenez and the driver of the Mitsubishi exchanged glares and words for a few moments before the shooting.
