Tests Find No Coliform in 30 Water Supply Sites
Thirty sites in the San Diego County water supply system have tested negative for illness-causing bacteria, officials said Thursday. The tests contradicted tests at 11 sites Monday that were positive for coliform bacteria, which can cause vomiting, fever and flu-like symptoms.
After the follow-up tests, officials concluded that the earlier tests were inaccurate. The San Diego County Water Authority, which supplies water to 23 local agencies serving 2.7 million people, is attempting to determine why the earlier tests gave false positives.
