Woods Takes Checkered Flag in Irwindale Feature
Tim Woods III of Chino Hills used a favorable starting position to his advantage as he won the 75-lap Jani-King Super Late Model series feature in front of a near-capacity crowd of 5,386 at Irwindale Speedway.
Woods, who has been splitting time between the Super Late Model series and the Winston West Series, qualified ninth but because of the starting inversion, started on the outside pole position.
In the 75-lap Southern California Auto Club Late Model series feature, Tim Huddleston took the early lead in the Championship race, but an accident on lap 24 knocked the Agoura Hills native into the pits.
Scott Youngren took the checkered flag for his first win in the series, holding off Doug McComb and Kevin Wood.
In the 75-lap American Race Trucks series feature, Terry Young held off Robby Brand and Randy Nelson for his third straight win in as many races.
Ricky Wildman won the 35-lap King Taco Legends race.
