Timing Is Just Right for a Water Garden

Share

Summer’s a good time to start a water garden, and this is when many nurseries stock aquatic plants, including the spectacular water lilies that bloom all summer and fall.

Ornamental pools don’t have to be big or elaborate to hold a few plants.

A properly balanced pool (plants, fish and snails) doesn’t need to be emptied, nor do you need pumps and filters (except for koi).

Simple kits that use a tough plastic liner are available at nurseries.
