Hillary Pillory

“The Electronic Pillory” (Opinion, July 21) points out that the desperate savaging by e-mail of Hillary Clinton is reminiscent of the personal attacks on that great lady, Eleanor Roosevelt, during and after her husband’s presidency. Unfortunately today, too many e-mailers obligingly forward this patently false claptrap without ever questioning the background of the source--if, in fact, a source is provided.

A visit to the public library is “outside the box” for such true believers. What used to be “If the Bible says it, that’s good enough for me” is now “If it’s on e-mail, it must be true.” Thank you, Carol Muske-Dukes and thank you, www. truthorfiction.com, for exposing the gullibility of ignorance.
