Travel Sickness

Re “Travel at LAX Hits 6-Year Low,” July 26:

Wonder why travel is down? Wonder why sales of many items are down? Wonder why entertainment attendance is down? For many of us, especially seniors, our so-called “discretionary” spending is tied up in medical expenses. The costs of medical care, prescriptions and insurance are skyrocketing as the quality of care goes down. It was enjoyable to get in the traveling we did while we were able to afford it, and for this we are very thankful. I am sorry for those who cannot do so now.
