Ex-Economy Minister Cleared in Arms Case
From Times Wire Reports
Former Argentine Economy Minister Domingo Cavallo was freed from a military jail in Buenos Aires after a panel of federal judges cleared him of involvement in a scheme to smuggle arms to Croatia and Ecuador.
The 55-year-old Cavallo resigned in December as the economy collapsed and rioters took to the streets.
Cavallo and his supporters have denounced the charges as politically motivated.
