Poultry, Grocery Firms Face Ergonomic Rules

U.S. regulators will draft voluntary ergonomic guidelines for poultry processors such as Tyson Foods Inc. and retail grocery stores such as Kroger Co. by the end of the year, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration said.

The Bush administration said in April it would create voluntary industry guidelines to reduce workplace repetitive stress injuries, in place of mandatory Clinton administration rules projected to cost business $4.6 billion a year.
